Elyse Therose: Elyse Therose EP (CD)

The 2014 debut EP from Elyse Therose presents a more guitar-driven, alt-grunge–leaning sound than the project's later more synth-forward work. Built around heavy, textured guitars and melodic songwriting, the EP balances raw intensity with a strong sense of atmosphere, at times recalling bands like Hum and Deftones.

Written and largely performed by Erin Elyse Jeffreys, the EP pairs personal, emotionally direct lyrics with dynamic shifts between softer passages and heavier, post-hardcore–tinged moments. Tracks like “The Night” highlight the project’s ability to blend weight and melody into something both intimate and expansive.
